Le Mans MotoGP 2019 - IDP

With all the uncertainty surrounding the UK's decision to leave the EU it has been suggested by the Department of Transport that our current photo driving licences will no longer be valid in Europe, or at least in the remaining EU countries. To get around this we need to go back in time and get an International Driving Permit.  Basically a cardboard and paper multiple language booklet that has stamps to show what licence entitlements you have.  They also have a photo on them and cost £5.50. But, not every country is signed up to the same Convention!  The last two in 1949 and 1968 have different signatories. What makes it confusing is that the EU27 are mostly signed up to the 1968 Convention but Spain (like the US) is still back in 1949! So to go to Spain after riding through France needs two IDP's!   They also have different validities.  1968 is three years and 1949 only one or the expiry of your UK driving licence whichever occurs soonest .
