Le Mans Tickets

GP Tickets here next week - http://www.gpfrancemoto.com/Tickets-information.html

Way to go

Plan A is to go over early and ride down in one go. it's only about 250 miles to the hotel. So there is plenty of scope to do tourist things on the way and have lunch. This is the most straightforward route and since the motorways opened it should be pretty quick. The hotel is about 35 miles from the circuit so after breakfast it will be a dash down the motorway and back afterwards.

Tickets etc.

Now that we have the hotel booked, the next thing will be tickets for the GP. Over the years I have always tried to book tickets direct with circuit or circuit's ticket agent. So I have been surfing the web and have come up with the official site for the Le Mans circuit.  Tickets in 2011 came out at €65 for the weekend and as well as circuit entry it includes some grand stands and a programme. As tickets don't go on sale until November we have nothing more to do. I have booked a second room at the hotel in case others want to join us and as the hotel is ridiculously cheap. Looking through booking sites and evern the local tourist offices can't match the €27 a night!

Where to stay... Le Mans MotoGP

So after knocking the North West 200 on the head for 2012, we decided on another MotoGP. We've done Assen a few times and so we decided to look for one nearby. So that was how we came upon France. So Le Mans it is. Not being campers we searched for hotels or B&B and came up with the F1 at Alencon.  It's a reasonable distance to the circuit but not too far to go on race day. I booked a "duo" room so that we have single beds rather than the double with the third bed across the top! Still has the loos and showers in the hallways, but at £25 a night it seems sound.
